I've not heard about it to be honest, but will do some googling to see what it's all about. I watched a documentary a while back about the space race between certain high profile billionaires. It was pretty interesting and they way they're bringing other businesses up to speed concurrently, in fact bringing new companies into being to support them is really cool. And yet, I still wonder if they should be putting just a little more resource into caring for the planet we have.

Yeah. I am really most familiar with Space X. Every time they send a Cargo Dragon to the ISS they save the US $1 billion. Sending 3 astronauts there saves another billion. The satellite they launched for Sirius the other day saved them 1 billion and months of time.
Pretty soon you get some real money in savings.
Just yesterday was the 15th anniversary of the US' Orion program. One test capsule has flown one test flight. The program costs roughly 1.5 billion per year.
Elon really does care about Earth. It's why Tesla and Solar World.
I don't know what a cargo dragon is but it sounds exciting. I'm imagining a dragon that carries cargo.
Isn't it funny how a private company can save where the government cannot?
It's pretty well expected for me. Musk and his companies are just absolutely driven and they build everything in house.
Cargo Dragon is an unmanned capsule that ferries cargo to the ISS. Dragon is the master name (and former code name) of their capsules. Crew dragon is close to launching for the second time, I think in February. It's a huge payday for Space X and a huge savings for the consortium that runs the ISS, mostly the US.
On other news: The Las Vegas city council approved the city loop as proposed by the Boring Company, another Musk project. It will be 4.2 miles (almost 7km) that will eventually link McCaron Airport with Freemont Street and everything in between. It will feature 4 passenger Tesla purpose built cars for quick transportation. The first link built around the Convention Center (the former Riverside Casino) will open Q2 2021. Just crazy stuff.
It's an open secret that the actual boring machine is designed to mine minerals on astroids but has a really positive effect here on earth. 0 pollution and 0 disruption for the city streets. They just dig under everything. Next up, Austin Texas :)
