Phew! I am glad this week's at an end, it has been a termite in a blender full of sawdust chips!
Hmm. Maybe I better lay off the cocoa berry black tea, I am a bit over intent.
Anyway, today we had to run to town. The hubs gets battlefield acupuncture done at the VA clinic in CDA every other Friday, and since we are a vehicle down, and I kinda like to hang out with him on occasion, I wandered into town with him to do my once a month grocery shopping extravaganza.
I said wandered, it was more like sledded into town. It put down the snow this morning! Several inches in fact. It often amazes both of us how people tend to forget how to drive in the snow between snowstorms. There were tail-gaters galore! There was also a car versus logging truck car accident on the hill that must have happened shortly after we drove down it. Hopefully no one expired, usually the logging trucks win.
After acupuncture time we went into the always exciting Costco, which was not too crowded. I think that may have had something to do with the snow. When I ducked into the dairy cooler to grab a 1/2 gallon of whipping cream I spotted an interesting anomaly, there was a minor frenzy next to a 1/4 pallet of eggs. One guy was filling his cart with the cartons of eggs that were present. I find human behavior during shortages most interesting. If you keep chickens you tend to not have egg shortages, but even if you don't have eggs about, there's always substitutions. What there aren't any substitutions for is frayed nerves due to media hype and over input on the ol' nervous system. Sigh.
After we got done shopping we trundled out to Rufus and loaded him full of our acquisitions. Our truck is not what one would call, refined. Usually we park way out in the north forty, but the hubs found a very spacious parking spot near the front entrance door so we parked there. I started giggling as he started Rufus and I took the cart back to the store. Rufus has a gigantic hole in his exhaust pipe and is very fragrant being a belching diesel with no emissions equipment on him. It's like being next to a tank circa 1991 in the Persian Gulf.
The employees shuffling the carts in the cart area looked at me in perplexed gratitude as I ran the cart back to where it belonged (I am feeling much more like me and I tend to trot everywhere, it's in part from a lifetime of being somewhat diminutive in size). I felt their expression of bewildered gratitude right down in my toe socks, it really is no big deal to take the cart back, but their happiness about my action was infectious so I had a bit more pep in my giddy up as I trotted back to Rufus and the hubs.
It was then I saw an elderly gal trying to load her car next to us, with Rufus belching exhaust all over her. I picked up my pace and bellowed, He's a bit of a blow hard, I'll get him out of here!
I jumped in the truck and told the hubs to punch it.
Here's the thing, most parking lots, save truck stops, are not engineered for one ton flatbed pickups with cow chucker bumpers on each end. The grandma I was trying to rescue from exhaust poisoning smiled really big as I watched in horror as the hubs started backing out, as there wasn't a ton of room. In the end two grandmas smiled patiently and gestured about distance at us as we maneuvered out of the parking lot. I rolled down the window and thanked them for their help. They waved. It was fun.
Speaking of fun, my good day continued at the dreaded Walmart. I rarely enter that store, but I had to get some sprinkles, a birthday card, and a flower pot. As I had a ton of other things to do today, I knew it was the place to go.
I am so glad I did, look at this clay bee pot I found! I love it!
The bee pot is the new home for my begonia cutting I took off of the plant my mom got me for my birthday last year. I loved it all spring, summer, and fall, and I even took a cutting that I turned into a sprouting beast!
The thing is, that cutting has a ton of roots and needs a new home. Today, a home was acquired.
Cora the Corg looked most concerned while I oohed and aahhhed over the pot as I took pictures of it for this post. Jojo the Void not so much. All she cares about is murder and cat treats.
But now, now I must bolt. One of my offspring just bought there very first pickup truck. It's much newer and more refined than mine, but I wish to celebrate with her a bit 😊
Bustlin' begonias indeed!

In the fall, I dig up one of the begonias to bring inside. This year's is looking not so great, but getting better now there's more light. Cool about the new truck!
I bet it will be a beautiful beastie by this summer😊 And I'm excited for her too, she's bringing the new truck out for me to see this afternoon lol!
Hope you and Larry have a most cozy caturday!

Winter took so long to get here, I think everyone is baffled about driving now that it has arrived. The older I get, the less enthusiastic I am about driving in the snow, so I have been hibernating more than usual. Besides, I've had the local Tired Bug.
