Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey denied that he is an Ethereum holder. This was initially suggested by the developer and active member of the crypto community, Udi Wertheimer.
"Have Bitcoin maximalists already learned that Jack Dorsey is holding ETH or not?" - wrote Wertheimer. "It's been 24 hours and Dorsey is already telling us that Bitcoin is about social justice activism," he added later.
"Bitcoin only," Dorsey responded.
Dorsey and Wertheimer's communication took place in the context of a recent statement by Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong. He drew criticism after forbidding employees to participate in public activities.
"Bitcoin is a direct activism against an unavailable and restrictive financial system that negatively affects a significant part of our society," Dorsey wrote then. - It's important to at least recognize and connect the social problems that your clients face on a daily basis. [Armstrong's Statement] leaves people behind.
Armstrong advocates that the team focus on common goals rather than social and political activities. CEO Coinbase has decided to resort to such measures amidst the destabilization of the U.S. public situation as a result of the Coronavirus Pandemic, rising social tensions and presidential elections. "While I believe that behind these actions are good intentions, they can destroy the values of most companies, being a distraction and creating divisions within," he says.
Criticism by well-known entrepreneurs has not influenced Armstrong's views. He confirmed his intention to adhere to new policies, offering generous compensation to employees who decide to leave the company because of this.
