You also get to the point where people no longer wish to sell. Either those that have given up are all gone, those that bought for cheaper have all already taken profit, and then you're finally left with miners that are selling to continue to fund there operations.

Once you have more buyers than those selling on a continual basis, aka miners, you eventually hit the bottom. While it doesn't continue to go up is because those that bought at 3k were more than happy to take profits at 14k which causes more fear and panic and increased selling pressure.
