Well, people generally only follow a couple of their best-known compatriots, the Olympics is quite overwhelming otherwise - hundreds of competitions and races in like two weeks.
So the FPS shooter crowd of Gen Z finally grew up and brought the Bunny Hop to the sport of Fencing.

Are the Russians there or did they boycott (or get banned)?
They got banned, just a few of them can compete as individualities, not representing their country.
Ah okay. Typical. The geopolitics these days is outrageous.
Either that, or somebody simply assumed that a shooting competition with both Ukranian and Russian athletes could get a bit tricky ;)
And there are other dangerous sports, like javelin.
