The Catholic Church was founded by Jesus Christ. All the Catholic Churches have Apostolic succession. Hence, the Ethiopians are not Catholic.
All Protestant churches originated from the Roman Catholic Church during the Reformation in the 16th century. They reject books from the canonicalized Bible.
