There is a lot happening here on the Pi Network. Every now and then we see some kind of an update and this time it was interesting to see about - Auctions for .pi domains are open. Incase interested then you can also bid for your favorite domain here - domains.pinet.com. One important thing to remember here is that before you access the link you will need the Pi Browser App installed and then only will you be able to access the link and bid for the .pi domains.
What it makes me think is that the PI team is expanding the ecosystem with utilities at all levels after they have opened the network. We saw the PiFest ongoing and now this .pi domains auction is yet another big thing. Please note that all auctions expire on June 28,2025. Individual domain auction will be extended if there are bids within the very last 24 hours. So lets take the example of the Hive.pi domain the highest bid so far is for 30 Pi tokens and the days left for the auction to close is 102 days. Now if we don't get any bid during this time frame that domain will to the bidder who had bid 30 Pi but if there is a before the auction ending then this bid is extended for another 24 hours or so. So the point here is that Pi Network is selling .pi domains and if there is something in your mind that you did like to grab then this is your time to have a go at some good names with .pi. Lets now quickly cover on the::-
Auction Participation Rules
Eligibility: The entire Pi community and any individual who are able to acquire Pi through centralized exchanges (CEXs) can bid for the .pi domains
Minimum bid value: 10 Pi
Duration: The Auction started on Pi day i.e. March 14, 2025, and will end on June 28, 2025
Rules and how to participate: Pi users can participate by visiting domains.pinet.com on the Pi Browser. Follow the steps thereafter and you should be good to bid for a .pi domain.
Ok now with regards to my plan for .pi domains then I do have some plans here. First I wont let go the Hive.pi domain go so easily at 30 Pi. Right now I will be silent and be on the watchers side and towards the end of the auction will start bidding for Hive.pi domain subject to condition if its going at a very cheap price. I also have some domains in mind that I did like to buy and right now no one has bid for them. So that's good in some manner and the same strategy I will apply i.e. at the last day of the auction I will start bidding and if I get lucky I may end up having the precious .pi domains at a very cheap price. But lets see how things turn out in near future. Right now its just the beginning of the auction and as we progress we see a lot of action that could ultimately raise the prices of the domains further up. The other important thing to note here is that all the purchase of the domains are going to be in Pi tokens and the funds received here will be used for further development of the Pi network so that's also good in some manner. Just started mining again and waiting for my KYC to clear so I can transfer some PI to my mainnet wallet. Saw the price was $2.80 and is now about $1.30.
Yes it was tempting and I just wished I had got the Pi tokens back then. But unfortunately still waiting to get the tokens migrated. Lets hope for the best. cheers
I've got about 700 PI and I would still like to cash a few of those out. I would keep some though for exploring the PI network.
After doing the liveness check a few times they did ask to verify my wallet last night so maybe migration is close. 🙂
