Google has added a very useful feature to the Google Text app, which enables you to copy and paste handwritten notes from papers to your computer by phone.
This new feature also supports text to speech. To use the new feature, you must have the latest version of Google Chrome in addition to the standalone Google Lens app on Android, or the "Google" app on iOS "where the lens can be accessed via a button next to the search bar".
The user will also need to log in to the same Google Account on both devices (phone and computer).
After that, just point the camera at any handwritten text, highlight it on the phone screen, then select Copy.
You can then go to any file in Google Docs, press the "Edit" button, then paste "Paste" to paste the text.
And if you do not know how to pronounce a word, Lens can help in that as well, by selecting the word in question or the sentence or even whole paragraphs, then clicking on "Listen", a feature currently available in Android, and will soon be available on a system IOS.
And if the text isn't written accurately, you'll definitely get some typos. But it's still especially cool and useful at a time when many are now working from home and counting on endless to-do lists and handwritten notes to give some sense of order to their day.
The app can help people translate words into many languages when the camera is pointing at them.
Google has expanded the ability of the Lens app to pull search results, so that after highlighting text, you can scroll down to get Google search results.
