Blockchain
Blockchain is certainly complex and possible, but the basic idea is actually quite simple. Blockchain is a type of database. To understand blockchain First you need to understand what a database is.
- A database is a collection of information stored electronically in a computer system. The data or data in a database is often structured in tabular form to facilitate searching and filtering of specific data. What is the difference between people who use spreadsheets to store data instead of databases?
- Spreadsheets are designed for one person or a small group. Instead of storing and accessing a limited amount of data, databases are designed to store significantly larger amounts of data. It allows any number of users to access, filter and manage quickly and easily at the same time.
- Large databases are made possible by server data created from powerful computers. Sometimes these servers can be created using hundreds or even thousands of computers. Provide the computing power and storage capacity necessary for multiple users to access the database simultaneously. Even if many people have access to a spreadsheet or a database. But companies are often owned and operated by hired people who have full control over how they operate and internal information.
How is blockchain different from databases?
Storage structure
- An important difference between a conventional database and a blockchain is the method of data formation. Blockchain collects data in groups, known as blocks, that contain data sets. The blocks have a certain storage capacity. And it will link to the previously filled block when completed. The formation of a chain of data known as a "blockchain", all the new data that follows the newly added block is collected in the newly created blocks that are added to the chain when it fills up.
- Databases form data as tables, while blockchain refers to the exact name. Divide the data into blocks that are connected to each other. This makes the entire blockchain a database. But not all databases are blockchain. This system creates an invariable timeline of information when placed in a decentralized manner. Once the block is full, the block will be placed on the stone and become part of this timeline. Each block in the chain gets a specific timestamp when it is added to the chain.
