Is Your Job The Only Thing Providing Food On Your Table?

If you are sacked today, will you have another alternative to put food on your table?

This is a question many employees don't ask themselves especially this who don't have anything apart from their job.

It is heartbreaking seeing an employee who was smiling yesterday going to work but coming back home today crying because he lost his job.

The tears would have not being necessary if there were alternatives but most employees don't have and that is one major reason I wrote this article to open the eyes of employees to alternatives aside the salary they receive whether small or big.

The first alternative is to look within and dig out what they have passion or talent in.

There is something you have passion or talent in that can be monetized into a profit making business.

Few weeks back an employee reached out to me and complained of how her salary was not enough and how afraid she is because there is no other alternative aside from her job.

The question she asked was, how can she find an alternative and one of the things I told her was that she should give attention to what comes easily for which is her passion.

She began telling me of how easy it is for her to speak and teach on relationship/marriage issues, I quickly told her things to start doing for that passion to become a profitable business.

Most employees are ignorant of the fact that they can turn their passion, talents, experience and knowledge into a profitable business which can become streams of income.

This understanding will make you red assured that even if you lose your job today, you have what to fall back to.

It is not wise as an employee to not have anything to fall back to.

In face it is more wise to start preparing to create alternatives for income aside your job while working and not waiting till you are sacked or when you retire.

Learning a high demanding skill is another alternative you need to have because it is a major way to get streams of income aside the salary you collect monthly.

The question you will ask me is what skills aren't high demanding?

There are many but will just talk of two because of time sake.

A. Content Writing Skills
Creating content is a major skill that is highly demanded in the market place.

I know how many times business owners reach out to me for the purpose of creating content online for their business. Imagine making at least 20,000 naira every month plus your salary, that's better than having nothing to fall back on.

There are online courses you can enroll in to learn content writing skills. It is wise to learn a skill even if it means paying for it. It will cost you more if you don't learn a skill now.

B. Video editing using your smartphone is another skill that is in high demand now and learning this skill gives you an average of earning 20,000 monthly if you know your onions.

Getting this skill will position you to get other streams of income aside your salary.

From today start taking action, get understanding of what you have passion for and also learn a skill.
