Elon Musk Announces That Tesla's Can No Longer Be Purchased with Bitcoin
“Tesla has suspended vehicle purchases using Bitcoin. We are concerned about rapidly increasing use of fossil fuels for Bitcoin mining and transactions, especially coal, which has the worst emissions of any fuel”, Musk tweeted on Wednesday.
Elon Musk proceeded to claim that cryptocurrency is a good idea on many levels, but he doesn't believe the high taxation on the environment via energy costs. According to tweets, he will not sell off Tesla's bitcoins, but will hold until the costs of mining a more environmentally friendly.
"We are also looking at other cryptocurrencies that use <1% of Bitcoin's energy transactions.
How Does This Affect Hive?
First, Musk's announcement affects anyone who holds or has interest in cryptocurrency. This is bad press.
On the other side of the coin (yes, pun intended) Hive has recently acquired a 50 megawatt ("MW") data centre campus in New Brunswick (the "Campus") from GPU.One Holding Inc. ("GPU One"), and all of Hives mining have always been powered by green energy.
I have already been planning to market Hive by leveraging it's eco-friendly presence (eco-friendly comparibly). I have developed some visual marketing material that has been waiting for me to launch on to social media, but I wasn't ready. It might be time to push this data out sooner than I planned. Many of you Hivian's are previously cemented and known as feverous marketing reps on your social media pages. I wasn't even aware of Hive's "green" efforts on the infrastructure side... interesting! And why do you call New Brunswick "The Campus"? Is Hive Canadian at its roots? Sorry... that's a lot of questions, but I obviously agree with any idea that pushes us into the spotlight. Great post! :)

Yes, Hive is Canadian, with its Head Office located in Toronto Ontario.
If I remember correctly, there are mining sources in Vancouver as well as New Brunswick.
EDIT: I was wrong, Hive is in Vancouver, BC Canada

Sweet! I'm Canadian too... not sure if our presence is lacking comparatively-- there may be lots of us who aren't making it known. I should start using a related tag.
I find it funny that Hive is Canadian yet the Canadian presence here is lacking.
