What I love most about the cryptospace is that every morning I get up to read and write about it, there is always something interesting or exciting going on. Whether it's information explaining how to stake Ethereum 2.0, or information about what is arguably the most exciting project in the cryptosphere, i.e. the Lightning Network.
Whenever anyone says that Bitcoin will never be able to deal with so many transactions due to high transaction costs, which recently rose to an average $5.16, or that people will never trust bitcoin over fiat, I always say the same thing. I just say three words - "never say never". It is genuinely amusing to hear the failed past predictions. Here are some of them you can quote if someone tells you Bitcoin will never be able to do xxx:
Prediction: “This ‘telephone’ has too many shortcomings to be seriously considered as a means of communication. The device is inherently of no value to us.”
Who: Western Union internal memo When: 1876
Prediction: “I think there is a world market for maybe five computers.”
Who: Thomas Watson, chairman of IBM When: 1943
Prediction: “There is no reason for any individual to have a computer in his home.”
Who: Ken Olson, president, chairman and founder of Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) When: 1977 , in a talk given to a World Future Society meeting in Boston
Prediction: “Television won’t last because people will soon get tired of staring at a plywood box every night.”
Who: Darryl Zanuck, movie producer, 20th Century Fox When: 1946
What makes me want to get up every morning and write about cryptocurrency developments is that there is always something in the pipeline. There's always developers working to fix bugs. There's always entrepreneurs investing time and resources in the space. There's always crypto enthusiasts expressing their interest in the decentralized revolution. Wherever you look, things are changing and while there are still problems, things are always getting better. There's always crypto content creators consoling their audiences during market crashes. There's always educators breaking down complicated crypto concepts into words we can understand.
When I first entered the space 3 years ago, there was only one decentralized network I could earn crypto on - Steemit. While Steemit has taken a different course with the Justin Sun takeover, there are now many other platforms where you can post and earn crypto including Publish0x, Hive, Uptrennd, Library, 3Speak and more! It's as easy as ever to start earning money by just posting content. If you post on decentralized platforms such as Hive you don't even have to worry about a centralized authority taking your content down - it's always there on the blockchain. While Publish0x isn't as decentralized, I still like it for several reasons which I outlined here.
The point is that this space is constantly changing and every time there is a failure or bad news of some sort, and bitcoin doesn't die, it becomes stronger. Every time someone tries to take it down or bash it to the ground, but fail, the whole crypto space grows a new arm and leg to fight off future attacks. It's like an alien constantly morphing into better and stronger versions of itself. It's so exciting!
Tell me, what excites you most about the crypto space? Let me know what your thoughts are.
