Indeed, words are cheap, anyone can literally say anything. You can find someone who would claim to be the best in whatever they do, and only for you to find out that he/she is just an amateur. People will say anything, but as a business man you should look at their actions to see if they correspond with their words.

I have noticed over the years that when you hear someone saying things like - I'm a very honest person, I don't do this or that. Usually, you should be more skeptical about that person, because they may be trying to cover themselves. But the general truth is - you never know, so what you do is watch them closely to see how they function. Some people also say things and live up to their words.

In order to own and run a successful business, having to hire people to work for you or with you as an entrepreneur, understanding human behavior can be very useful for you. Hence, you don't just listen to words, you actually try to investigate if what they're saying to you is who they really are.

For this reason, it's important to call their former employer or anyone who has worked with them. This may save you the time of having to hire the person, and find out if their words match their actions by yourself.

I know so many people that are carried away by a beautiful speech or someone who appears in a certain way, and makes certain strong words about their capability.

I just really want you to know that in the end actions speak way louder than words. Hence, you should observe people's actions really closely, that's where you'll tend to see the truth.
