Having watched love both shows, I understand where you're coming from. I cannot offer the exact same or replacement, but I can give you some recommendations I personally deem – if not equivalent then at least – pretty damn great.
The latter is probably closest related to The Walking Dead in an atmospheric and thematic sense. And big bonus; there are several seasons of it, so you'll have hours and hours of good stuff if you like it
