While one of the biggest banks in my country is making use of blockchain technology to improve and facilitate better services to people, there are still many other sectors that I believe would benefit too with increased efficiency, transparency, more secure handling, and even reduced costs.

Sort:

The electoral committee started exploring the technology last year as it considers the idea of a blockchain-based automated election system. I believe it would be a game-changer if they would push it through and set it up to be used in future elections in the country.

Imagine the benefits that could bring - a more systematized and transparent election, fraud and manipulation would be controlled, it will be less costly in the long run, etc.

Another most time-consuming process in the country is getting or renewing a driver's license and passport. While they have been improved these recent years, there's a need to have better systems to ensure more secure, decentralized processing, handling, and storage of private data.

There is so much inefficiency in these areas and a change is needed. In addition, there are concerns about the security of the databases where the private or personal information of citizens is being stored. The country and people would benefit greatly if the traditional systems would shift to blockchain-based.

Then there's the National ID system that is screaming for efficiency and systematized processing. It is taking years for everyone to get their IDs, not to mention a similar concern about how people's data are being stored.

We know for sure that sensitive, private data are synonymous with big money, hence they are prone to illegal access and hacking. Cloud databases aren't as safe as we would have thought. More secure, tamper-proof, decentralized solutions would be beneficial.

That and more in today's post👇

Many countries already use something very similar to blockchain IDs on their national IDs. They already have a public/private key, that could easily be used to sign tx, all of this would actually be easier to implement then you think.

I hope this can be implemented in all countries
