Feedback on the hive town hall meeting #3

Hello everyone!

I trust we are all having a wonderful weekend. The weekend is quite interesting. Being opportune yesterday to be in the hive space show was really interesting; having to listen to various contributions and suggestions, as well as the questions and the threadcast engagement, was one of them. Fast forward to what was discussed; different opinions on downvotes, rewards pool, and witness votes were made, which gave a clear understanding of what the essence of the aforementioned effects were.

What was really stressed on was the aspect of the rewards pool, where insights came in from the likes of @taskmaster4450, @khaleekazi, and other lions who really made good contributions to improve the hive ecosystem.

Looking at the aspect of downvotes, it is worthy of note that any community without rules leaves the members with no choice but to misbehave. An organization without rules leaves its staff with a carefree life. When rules are made, they come with certain punishment measures for defaulters, which will help caution them not to repeat them. Hive downvotes are a measure of correction. Without it, the hive ecosystem will be a space for anyone to do what they like, but with it, everyone is so conscious of what they drop in this space.

Going further to look at the aspect of rewards, this is a token of appreciation and also a way of encouraging hivers to keep engaging and doing what will bring growth to the platform. When the rewards are removed, it only takes someone whose interest is channeled toward something different to keep engaging. As it was emphasized by one of the speakers, Hive stands to be the only source of income for most of us, and removing the rewards is like removing food from our mouths.

Another way to look at it is that, when this change is effected, i.e., the reward removal, the downvotes will not be functioning. Of course, what is the function of following the rules when rewards aren't attached? Having to see things differently will help us understand the benefits we enjoy.
