Politics & Policies - I believe Trump’s Policies will favor Tech & Crypto

Growing up as a young girl, one of the things I hated was politics and the reason was simply because of how those who are in power treat others; the neglect, and abuse of power, greed, and insensitivity were all Red flags for me to be interested in politics.

Often we hear people say that politics is a dirty game, well maybe this is true but I got a better understanding that the individual would need to work hard (with integrity and principles) not to play dirty. Politics was supposed to be an avenue or platform of service, but today what we have is a group of insensitive, self-ambitious, greedy men and women who are only interested in cutting from the national cake. Politics have become so attractive and lucrative that everyone is now aspiring for one position or another for their selfish ambition and interest.

Sometimes, I, imagine the margin between what a politician earns especially in Nigeria to that of a teacher or even a market woman. The allowances and salaries of these politicians monthly are someone's annual earnings. And this is supposed to be a field of serving. To serve those who are entrusted in your care. I guess the true aim of service is already defeated. Those called to serve want to be served mighty. Leadership positions in all aspects of life, be it religious or otherwise have become a ground for wealth accumulation, fame, and power.

A few days ago, there was an assassination attempt on the life of the former U.S.A. president; Donald Trump during his campaign speech. human lives no longer matter; how did we even get here? Donald Trump lost to Joe Biden in 2020 as U.S.A. president and is currently interested in running for that position for the second time.

An interesting fact to note about the U.S.A. is that they had identified and recognized three important key factors; military (security), economy, and technology which have given them a great advantage over other nations of the world. Amazingly these key factors are interdependent, a country safe and technologically advanced would blossom in its economy. Like a perfect triangle, each depends on one another.

American citizens are concerned about the forthcoming election, the fate of the states lies in their hands, the two contestants have been allowed to rule at a point in time, NOW this moment is to decide if they both deserve a second opportunity to right their wrongs and failings, creating room for improvement while in office. One of the determining factors is to see how each of their policies' implementation would positively or negatively affect the states.

A country with good governance and policy implementation programs would strive well, not attaining perfect but relatively good growth and development would be evident in such a place.

Now let's take a look at China, China was one of the poorest countries but today it is one of the fast-rising countries in the world, its government and citizens are ensuring economic growth and stability in the country, and surprisingly many of our goods and products imported today in Nigeria are made in China.

But in Nigeria, Bad governance, bribery, and corruption seem to be on the high side. The well-being of the country matters only to a few minorities amongst the majority. On daily news, cases of embezzlement, misappropriation, and diversion of funds are what we hear about these days. Even when policies are made, they are either favorable to certain groups of people or they are never implemented.

During manifestos and campaign rallies, we hear beautiful speeches devoid of grammatical errors on how they intend to improve and positively impact the nation, promises upon promises are made with no intention of fulfilling them. The masses are made to live with their choices and decisions after electing them into positions. It has become an error; a thing of regret to believe in the abilities or capabilities of aspiring contestants and politicians at large, even those with genuine intentions are doubted.

The true orientation about politics has been corrupted and infiltrated by selfish and self-ambitious people, wealth, power and fame are the new normal we get in politics these days. No one is interested in being a servant-leader, and just like we see and hear in Nollywood adverts those days, it is "grab your copy now!!!" that's what we see in today's politics. Everyone is grabbing a large piece of the nation's cake.

Soon the U.S.A. would be making her decision by electing her leaders, for Nigerians, we have already made our choice and are living with our decision, but one important question we must all ask ourselves is what happens next?? It is high time we become more intentional about the choices we make.

I particularly support Donald Trump because I believe he will be a crypto-supporting president which will give crypto a good landing. Just like Andreessen Horowitz believes Trump’s policies are much more favorable for tech, specifically for the startup ecosystem. I wish the U.S.A. a free and fair electoral process and transition.

America still has a few noble congressmen, but the majority have been corrupted by the system in recent years - "we have the best congress money can buy!", as they say.

If we traveled back in time a few decades we would see that the majority of congressmen served their constituents honorably, but as time went on they became more self-serving, and I think the average American was distracted by food and entertainment, essentially allowing it to happen.

"The people get the government they deserve" sounds harsh, but I think it's true. We all need to take personal accountability for future of our nations (or local communities) because that's the only way we recover from this downfall we find ourselves in.

I agree with you. Things have really changed over the years, and it really does feel like many have lost sight of what serving the public is all about. We all need to stay engaged and hold our leaders accountable and like you said change starts with us. Thank you for visiting.

Dear my lady @iskafan !

I thought you believed that cryptocurrency was necessary for the well-being of Nigerians!
