I think @cryptoandcoffee is from Johannesburg. He's been doing well on HIVE for years now, and is involved in the Sports Talk Social and Leo Finance communities especially. He seems to be happy to give advise on how to grow within HIVE.

Hi and happy to help with whatever and would be great to get a group of South Africans growing their Hive stakes. There is already a Hive map of Hiveans if I am not mistaken. I know Hive UK is active and has a list. Maybe a Hive SA account that upvotes content would be a good starting point which we could delegate to. Possibly setting up a discord channel for anyone new and needs assistance would also be helpful to keep everyone active.
Back in the old-blockchain days, before the hard fork, myself and @therneau and some of the others mentioned here were part of a Discord for SA and there is an account of some sort... but I don't think it's a "Community" account per se.
It upvotes me when I use #southafrica.

As for a map, that totally in my head, but I could not find one. I know pinmapple is for posts on a map but not exactly people...
There is a map and will have a look where and who has it. Yes from Johannesburg. There are quite a few members in South Africa but not all are very active and would be great to get an account offering a vote. I know how hard it is to grow even though things are far easier today than 4 years ago.
If memory serves, @cheeto.blue created an account for exactly that... called @teamsouthafrica ... there was also a smaller @springbokkie curating bot too by ? @bmj ?
P.S. ... I think @therneau and/or @joanstewart might even still have the posting keys for @teamsouthafrica.
Now we need to know which of those are still active. I have now idea! At least there are pings!
@therneau & @joanstewart are still active... but all the others have fallen away... even before the HIVE fork.
P.S. Plan B: We start a new "TeamSA" account... I'm sure I could whip together a simple enough NodeJS script to (auto)vote #TeamSA posts if the account's VP is >98%, but the main problem is finding a few curators that will manually vote #TeamSA posts on a daily basis.
The previous TeamSouthAfrica discord worked really well... for a while... and then one by one curators (and authors) started dropping off until the discord became a ghost town.
P.S. I'm quite keen to get it started again (will devote some time to the bot/script, delegate some HP to get it started and even set up the discord etc. etc.)... are you keen to play (and/or find & manage) moderators/curators though?
