I m yet to buy the spell book cause I do not know how to go about transferring SPS into the game account.

Do you have SPS in a third-party wallet, like MetaMask?
IF that's the case, you have to connect your wallet to your in-game account, using the in-game menu. I connected mine, so I can see my Metamask balance inside the game, and can also transfer to/from it.
