It makes no economic sense for people that are used to spending $60 on games. If they are the targeted audience you can't reach them with a $3k minimum pay-to-play.

$3k? That's quite an expensive entry amount. Seems more like a crypto investment than a game tbh.
You can theoretically start with less than $1k but if you want to actually play the game and be competitive $3k seems to be the entry sum.
One more reason why I expect Splinterlands to be a much bigger game than Axie.
