Don't want to FUD your investment or anything but Maki is actually a project lead by the same guy behind Unilayer that kinda flopped really hard. First IDO ended up burning a ton of ETH because they somehow messed up things and couldn't access the funds...
The launch of Maki was also rocky but no major issues that I know of. 500 is a well-sized bet at these prices though.
On the bright side, I remember reading that they had some VC funding for Makiswap so maybe that will keep them afloat for the long term.
Just wanted to point you in the right direction if you do decide to do some research.

Eh.. probably the best call. If you are looking for adventures BCH has launched their own DeFi ecosystem and Metamask users got super-easy access. I'll be writing about it as soon as I get all the info.
