Hello, beautiful Hivians, I am so glad to be part of you all.
As an introvert, this is a good place for me to share my thoughts. I would like to use this opportunity to say thank you to my brother, @samueluche07. Without him, I wouldn't have known about hives. Without much delay, I will like to introduce myself and share my story with you all.
WHO I AM
My name is Joanna Nnanna, the third of four children born to my parents. I was born and brought up in Lome, the capital of the small country of Togo.
This country holds the best parts of my life.
I attended a French school from primary school up to secondary school. We had everything we wanted. Things were going so well until one faithful day everything shattered. An unfortunate event befell my father. I had to drop out in the middle of the term. We had to run to Nigeria like refugees, abandoning all our properties.
STARTING FROM SCRATCH
Enugu was the state we chose to start a new life in. Life in Nigeria wasn't easy. After missing out for a year, I had to go back to school (English school). It wasn't easy because I had no prior knowledge of any basic English education, but fortunately for me, I excelled. While in secondary school (SS2), I already had in mind that there would be no way for higher education. I started teaching French in my school until they hired a new French teacher, and I became his assistant. The pay wasn't much, but it was okay for a little girl to keep herself together 😊.
A week after my WAEC, with the help of the French teacher, I secured a job as a part-time French teacher in a private school, though the distance was far. I had to stop along the line because the transportation took up a major part of my salary.
With time, I had another job offer as a French teacher in a private school in ABA, so I moved to Abia State. As a newbie in Abia State, I landed in the hands of the wrong people, but fortunately I came out unharmed.
After a few years, I got another job at Eziama Community School as a part-time French teacher.
After spending some months there, I got married, had to move to Ghana, and am back to starting a new life again in a different culture with a different language. (I guess I need to be a traveler.)
After some months in Ghana, I got a job as a French teacher in a private school.
FAMILY
Family life sets in. I had myself three kids.
HOBBIES
I love reading, singing, and my new-found love of baking. My first try was banana cake.
(I can't see the banana in it🤔.) will get better with practice. I also acquired some skills in crocheting, graphic design, and fashion design.
HOW I GOT TO KNOW ABOUT HIVE
After having my kids, I tried searching for jobs, but to no avail. I became frustrated because idleness is something I can't deal with. I complained to my brother about the challenge I was facing, and he told me about hives, and I was like, Sure, why not as long as it keeps me busy?
WHY I AM HERE
My journey so far on Hive has been nothing but interesting; I get to learn new things every day.
Though I love reading, I have seldom tried writing. This is a good opportunity for me to learn to write and, at the same time, earn money.
I would like to thank @fokusnow for his help and support through this journey. My writing may not be very good, but I am willing to learn and, with time, master it.
