I think it is the number of posts you commented on (top-level) but I could be wrong.

Hm, but this would be more.
But you brought me to an idea, maybe its when you are the only one commenting?
I think it can be with anyone high up on the list. I am sure they won't mind at all if it's adding something to the conversation.
