Lol. The pumps are so weird. I have no ideal how they decide the time for such things.
I think 2nd layer tokens and the development on HIVE will definitely make HIVE's price higher than STEEM in the future. Use case is more useful long-term.

I agree with you about the long term outlook.
The pumps are short term money makers. With a small market cap, relatively speaking, they can move it to great heights and make some money.
The one who is left holding when it turns back down is who eats it.
