I think networks are already starting increase the cost of things like RCs. WAX is using a similar system to RCs in HIVE where you stake WAX to get more CPU allocated to you. Overtime it recovers but as the network became far more busier, the amount of CPU allocated to you decreased. As right now, I think I have staked about 50 times what I had 3 weeks ago but I only have around 50% more CPU allocated to me.

Hive can scale easy factor 100 from now without any problem. Blocksize can increase also by a factor of 20 without any bigger problem.
RC costs are in general fantasy costs to prevent spam. To evaluate the long-term Value/spam.
The number can be changed. But everything must/should be cost-efficient.
