Yes I think Layer 2 allows people to move away from the disagreements on the 1st layer. This means even if HIVE rewards are removed, you still get 2nd layer tokens.

agreed. and i love this new dynamics of the chain. suddenly certain accounts don't have that much control. i remember when I was been flagged by a whale. it was terrible but I survive. nowadays one can move or even create their sub-community and work out their own tokenomics

Yea being flagged would be a pain but so long as you don't quit, they usually just leave you alone. The 2nd layer is amazing since those HIVE votes don't matter as much. But they are a nice addition to get.
