Conspiracy theories? It's not impossible for Apple to have it ready but I don't think it is because the technology wasn't improved enough yet. It reminds me of Zuckerberg's push for the metaverse.

Yep. He simply felt that it was time to built it and realized the #technology wasnt near ready.
