Zuckerberg understands that the metaverse is the future and he wants to control the gateway. If everyone requires a Facebook account, then they will have the ability to gather a lot of informaton and also be a huge part of the metaverse. I do hope we get alternatives soon so Facebook doesn't get their hands in there.
