This is my very first financial report here on HIVE, I'll try to keep it simple and direct to the point, but I'm in Crypto since a couple of years (thanks to CryptoArt) and I didn't honestly think I would find myself in this situation before, but here I am, trying hard to understand what I did wrong and to summarize a good lesson for my future.
I found out only recently about the HBD saving feature on Hive and I DO believe in this community for a number of reasons.
I happened to land here just after the steem fork, and I still think your community has a lot to give, but maybe, just maybe, staking HIVE is not all, maybe the HBD saving feature allows us all to see the impact of HIVE in our life.
I have been looking for clues in the community to understand how people use this feature, available thanks to the witnesses, I was actually able to find out many little stories that really attracted my attention.
I bet the most of us thinks of stablecoins like HBD when their national coin goes down like this fellow hiver, @go-kyo that puts in relief also something else though, how much the value of money is related to our collective mental health, on this side I dare to say that the "stable" part of the coin doesn't define crypto only, it does actually create a safer place for our minds too.
The little HIVE investors like me, that have been digging shallowly into HP and the meaning of staking (with all due respect to the concept of decentralization that it brings to life) have seen their blog's value reduced at less than half what it was 18 months ago, and this is hard.
But with HBD savings we can see the impact of our little everyday revenue, we can buy our new phone, and wait for better days, simply by doing what the Power Up days have been teaching us in these years, to gather and invest a little bit each month.
Using savings we can see the impact much faster, and as @tosolini said recently, you don't get a 20% APR easily in financial product in our times, paired with the stablecoin bright sides, this is amazing.

And back to me, my idealism, my will to invest in crypto ART has led me to some investments in the ethereum blockchain, Italian artists, the very first people I met in the blockchain world, the dream didn't last long though, i must say I lost more than 3000$ you can look for "jilt" on OpenSea if you wanna find out what I bought.
I can honestly and humbly say that I suck at investing in Art.
But I also decided to save about 123 HBD in march, during the powerup days, just to understand how it worked.
And here I am today, getting my 8 dollars after 3 months from the @peakd UI, asking myself what would have happened if I had invested that 3000$ in HBD in 2021.
Here comes the marathon story, right in the moment I ask myself that question.
I wanna thank @spinvest for the lesson he is teaching me there, and all of us but I hope I'll be able to stick with it ever since.
Because yes, stability is important, in both, coins and mental health.

I know all this Shitcoin list sounds boring, but when I did my first HBD savings on March I found out I was airdropped this WAIV token, and actually used that money to play @splinterlands the whole month!

Yes, but again it would be something you do for yourself, because you can see the impact immediately, powering up is good karma on a community level, you exchange HBD only from witnesses, and only half of the hive you have, so it's a little difficult to invest in a speculative way
I congratulate you on your progress so far. I think HBD has an incredibly good return for a conservative investment.
