JUST IN: Joel Embiid says he is signing a contract extension with the Philadelphia 76ers. The one-time NBA MVP will sign a three-year, $193 million maximum extension with the 76ers, with a player option in 2028-2029, sources tell @ TheAthletic.

Sorry man, I assume you thought he'd sign with the Mets. You see, everybody hates the Mets. This proves it.

He actually stayed with the team he’s been with all his career. Good move for him. Gets hurt too much for my Knicks to have invested in him if they had the chance.

It’s all good if they are hated they must be doing something right!

I remember seeing that slide in real-time. The moment was not lost on me although my brain couldn't quite grasp it I didn't believe my eyes but I knew it had to become a meme. I knew he wouldn't sign again and the validity of that slide would be lost to history. But it is the coolest thing I've ever seen.

It is cool 😎

I remember when we were stunned that Jordon made $30 million in a year.

Those days are looooooon gone and MJ deserved every penny. Im sure you and millions of others would agree.

Without a doubt. He was also way ahead of everyone else in the earnings.

Of course, he actually made more money outside the NBA than he did from his salary.

He is in his fifties and kids are still buying “Jordan’s”… That says it all!

MJ was the one who really elevated marketing and branding. In the US Arnold Palmer was pretty big but MJ went galactic.

Definitely a business man. The pioneer for black athletes in many facets.
