That would have been like Yankees trading Babe Ruth for a bag of sanitary stockings. That was a sad day not just for Mets fans but for New Yorkers of all kinds. If it makes Mets fans feel better, Seaver got no World Series w/ Reds in 1977.

It was actually not a bad trade on paper in terms of the return of prospects/young players. Of course, trading the Franchise was stupid but M. Donald Grant was a nightmare.
Seaver should have play his entire career with the Mets. With that said, I became a Doug Flynn fan lol @taskmaster4450le
I always like Zachary. He played second fiddle to the immortal Craig Swan.
He never lived up to his potential. Hendu wasnt bad for the Mets..solid player.
But nothing competes with the Franchise.
