It's insane to think that a professional athlete in any sport will possibly get a 600 MILLION dollar contract in my lifetime. The word is Shohei Ohtani will command that in the open market. He is completely dominating the sport #mlb

Thats a lotta sushi..

Good sushi.

A HELLUVA ALOT @davedickeyyall they will name a #sushi roll after Ohtani if they haven't already.

Unlike the rest of MLB, Shohei Ohtani is 2 athletes: the pitcher in rotation, and the DH (or fielder) when out of rotation. His 600M is more like (300M + 300M), and even then it's still insane numbers. Ohtani is Japanese Babe Ruth.

Without question. The guy is a beast. Whoever goes all in on him and gives him what is sure to be the biggest contract ever in #mlb history if not in #sports will it set an organization back if they don't win it all asap @magnacarta ?

If the Angels are smart, they sign him to a long-term contract no matter what the numbers are 2day. Although other teams will go after him, there are a couple of teams where he cannot go at any price: the other team in L.A. & LAS VEGAS A's.

If I was a betting man - if he doesn't stay with Anaheim - it's Dodgers hands down.

That makes sense on the surface, but other factors are at play. It's like the Dodgers letting a player go to the Giants (or likewise between Yankees and Red Sox): it's just not done. GMS3 would have been all over Ohtani had he been alive.

Being a #mets fan, I know without question no one can outbid Cohen. I just don't believe the Mets would be a top five choice for Ohtani. He's going to get the highest contact ever no matter. Sticking to the West Coast IMHO. #sports
