I agree Task. Yes, most Mets fans including me were optimistic about Counsel but it benefitted the Mets to get Mendoza instead. He knows the New York market and was in the Yankees organization that’s huge.
The best part of the play was the awareness Vientos had to go cover second.

Yeah. I think the best move the Mets made in the Stearns era was the hiring of Carlos Medoza.

Counsell made a quick decision to join the Cubs. Mets didn’t get a chance I believe.

The Mets are better of with Mendoza. He seems to fly under the radar and just do his job.
