Building Success By The Minute

in LeoFinance2 years ago

I don't recall any endeavor that I am involved in that I find fulfilling and enjoyable like my journey so far on Hive. My Telecoms career has been far from boring I enjoyed it and especially the traveling aspect which had me cover major cities and towns across South Africa. But over the years my interest in Telecoms has been diminishing. Perhaps this could be a result of my developing passion for blockchain and cryptocurrency.

Now and then I like to express myself about the impact the crypto space has had on me, the journey has been remarkable.

I have some audiobooks on a hard drive which I finally was able to retrieve recently, so one of the books am currently listening to is 50 Success Classic which talks about different successful people like Warren Bennis. I hadn't listened too long before I picked up a sentence that resonates with me.

Success is built by the minute

Over the years on Hive, one of the positive impacts Hive has had on me is time management, I am far from properly allocating time to specific tasks but one thing I remain consistent at is getting things done even if it takes longer and even if it costs me to take shorter breaks.

The mechanics in place on Hive tells me, it requires my time to maximize its benefit as much as possible for me, and that requires not just my time in the community but adding value as well.

Also looking at success by the minute, compound interest comes to mind. It is unfortunate some get on Hive and just lose interest in the little rewards they get for their interaction with the chain. That is where some get it wrong like some friends I have onboarded. Ignoring the power of compound interest. Most of the prominent success figures in our society today didn't just become successful overnight, it took years of consistent building.

We embark on goals throughout life, and in most cases, we want to see the result immediately lacking the character to enjoy success incrementally.

The ability to see success in every day increment is the motivation that keeps me going instead of waiting years for the big success to arrive, and if you ask me how will the big success arrive without making daily steps towards it, I don't have an answer for you.

There is joy in experiencing success incrementally, it is worth embracing compared to the "one day" big success we often dream of.

We owe it to ourselves to make Hive great

Over night success is done on a daily basis.

Amazing how that works.

That is simply the answer to success that suddenly appears to be overnight. We mostly see the success all of a sudden but ignore the consistent daily efforts put into it.

Success is really an incremental progress, day by day. We love to glorify over night success but that's always the tip of an iceberg. Underneath, we see a massive amount of work, commitment, perseverance etc.

That massive amount of work is what scares us, it takes courage to face it head-on, persevere, and work our way up.

Indeed! Just looking at mountain could take away your breath and demotivate you. But if you continue to put one step in front of the other day by day, in some months time, you'll start seeing that you're gradually bridging the gap.

We need a lot of the likes of us on Hive that aren't deterred by small increments, by the looks those of us sticking around are the courageous ones lol.

No doubt. Dared to face the mountain with all its traps and pitfalls.

Success doesn't happen overnight, we must keep building gradually, there is power in compounding

Hive has given us a glimpse of what compound interest can do, so am sticking to it.

The mere fact of starting to do what we want will lead us to what we long for so much.
I liked your thought

Starting is crucial, to keep at it is even crucial and when that's established chances of success is high.

Thank you 🙂

I fully agree with your analysis, everything is now a utopia and if you want it is not even the best for personal growth. There's a reason they call compound interest the eighth wonder of the world, right? Thanks for sharing!

If we want it we have to pay the price, failing to pay the price means we don't want it bad enough I suppose.
Many thanks for reading. 🙂

Don’t forget to live a life.

I find the best way for me that is sustainable is to do the most important tasks first thing in the day, while the mind and body are fresh.

It can be exercise, decisions for work, read the news, look at the markets and charts.

Once completed, just cruise throughout the rest of the day.

It is impossible to be sharp and productive every minute, even if you could do it for a while it leads to burn out.

I agree and anything that comes in fast tends to leave fast as well. I prefer a more gradual growth and let that be more stable over time.

When they come in fast, they most likely leave fast blowing up in our faces, which I have experienced in the past and I now appreciate the gradual and steady growth process more.
