Interesting quote from #web3 #marketing - the book I started reading about a week or so ago....

"Sometimes, depending on the audience, we need to avoid blockchain language entirely even if a product uses the tech....For example, replacing a term such as NFT with digital collectible"

Sort:

interesting one.

Totally liked the idea, make things look more simple and conveying message through it in simple yet attractive way.

Not everyone does understand Blockchain, NFT at first but when they hear "digital collectible" now this sound interesting to dig.

First impression.

Though what's the name of the book you're reading?

Web3 Marketing by Amanda Cassatt. I'm about 3/4 of the way through it. Lots of Ethereum propaganda, but the end of the book seems to be the meat of it, actual concepts on how to market this stuff.

Banks too are calling it "Digital Asset". I now understand why those articles on web that says - exlain XYZ to me like I am five are getting popular.

People want to know about this stuff, but when we confuse them, they'll just move on.

this is what I have been saying ... NFT, Crypto, token are super 'toxic' in the gaming industry right now.
We can't be talking gameFi and expect to make any headway outside of "circle jerk" crypto circles.

This is why my brain explodes when a new "hive" game comes out that is a website layer 2 token money grab.

I think that's why I'm so careful ith any project on Hive that I delegate / invest in....The people behind the project, must have a track record of value on chain.

hhmmm... that is kind of the issue.
What is value for the chain?
I have not found one I can support yet based on that criteria.

but we all have different views that is why we will grow stronger.

i think people that have been here, powering up, staying the course even through all the bear markets this chain has seen...that's value to me, because they dont jump ship. building during bears is always a good sign for me.

This is something I think is really important....It's also how Steve Jobs framed the iPod. He didn't call it 'a storage device for 1 GB of data', he framed it as 'a device that holds thousands of your favorite songs'

Great point! Too much jargon can be confusing and alienating to new audiences. Using simpler language like "digital collectible" instead of "NFT" can make your message more accessible and impactful. I can totally relate to this.
