What Do You Even Believe?

in LeoFinance3 days ago

I had this idea, and I'm not sure if it'll click on the blockchain, but I thought I'd give it a try....

Over the next few weeks, God willing, I'll be putting together a sort of series about the doctrines I believe. This isn't meant to be exhaustive or anything, but I thought it would be a fun exercise in faith...And if anyone wants to know what Jongo believes in, hopefully this sheds light on it.

I think the first thing I need to address is that I am unapologetic Seventh Day Adventist Protestant Christian.....Wow, that's a mouthful.

My faith breaks down like this....I believe in all 10 of God's commandments, including the 4th! Which most of the Christian world seems to have forgotten (funny that it's the one that starts with the word Remember!). I believe that Jesus is coming again, very soon! And I'm protesting the doctrines of a certain church (more on that in a later post!)

Put it all together, and you have....My faith lol

But what does it stand on? And the answer to that is what I plan on going over today....

The Bible!

You see, without the Word of God, a lot of us would be spinning out wheels. It's my sure word of prophecy, and it's how my journey of sanctification gets it's game plan of sorts. The issue with a lot of Christians is that they are ready to beat people over the head with this Book...

Problem is, if you don't believe it's contents, that doesn't do much.

So for me, and my Christian walk, I had to believe it all. Which means, every single word of it. From Genesis to Revelation. All of it! And I admit, I take a lot of it with faith...Not always understanding it all right away, but with God's help, He unveils things for me day after day!

So the Bible is key for my walk with Christ. But what does the Bible even say about itself?

2 Timothy 3:16 reads that all Scripture is given by inspiration of God. This is a holy book and I accept it all. I may not understand it all, but I accept it!

A lot of people outside of faith will just tell you it's a book written by man, but I read 2 Peter 1:21 and that shows me that while the hands of man did write Scripture, it was the Holy Spirit that inspired them. So for me, it's clear....God's Word, from front to cover!

But what about Christ?

I'm a Christian, so that means...I must follow His example right? What did He think of Scripture?

When Satan tempted Jesus, we see in Matthew 4 that Christ kept saying these words...

"It is written..." to counter every temptation the devil threw at Him. Crystal clearexample of how Christ lived by the Word!

Big deal some may say, it's just a bunch of fables that have been made up over the centuries...

That's literally how I used to think. For the majority of my life, I was pretty much as anti-religion as it got. But then the historical prophecy of the bible just made it impossible for me to deny it anymore...

One look at the book of Daniel chapter 2 and history literally unfolds before our eyes....

It's just undeniable, and that's just scratching the surface of what God reveals to us in Scripture.....Centuries before these events happened. With perfection!

Science, health, history, poetry, wisdom, prophecy....You name it, the Bible talks about it and it's changed my life in ways I cannot begin to describe.

So before I start going on and on about what I believe, on a doctrinal level, I thought this post would be paramount to frame what my world view goes by....

The Bible. The Word. Scripture!

Without this, I cannot have the faith I do.

Fair play to you bro @jongolson just thought i would pop by see what you were up to these days.

It is good to have some convictions and a moral guide, especially in the very strange world we live in.

Spiritual awareness is a massive part to our existence regardless how people get there enlightenment is vital, we all take our personal paths.

I follow a different path personally but respect all spiritual walks, we all have to start from somewhere. No matter what we call it we are all in sense energy in a physical body, beyond that we speculate and are guided by our influences.

Wishing you a blessed spiritual walk and peace in your belief where ever it leads you my friend it is the right journey because it's yours.

You know how when you read sections of The Bible over the years little nuggets pop out at you that you never noticed before? It eventually was highlighted to me that Jesus REPEATEDLY gave credit and glory to God the father again and again.

It was one of those things that I didn't really catch upon the first read-through, but that came years later when the pattern showed itself.

His humility also shone through as he lived a life of example to all of us. You can read The Bible again and again and still learn new things.

Thanks s much for pointing that out. The humility he showed was paramount, I truly believe that. It's a big lesson for followers of him, be humble always!

Following the examples of Christ is what we need to get into the kingdom of heaven
Truly, it may be difficult because of the vices in the world but that’s really all that we need to

Eyes focused on Him! Easier said than done for sure, but through Christ all things are possible!

I'm not sure the world can be fixed, but it's always good to try.

New earth is future :)

Someone should indeed come to save the world.

He's coming :)
