A business strives well when it caters for the needs of her consumers effectively. Everyday, new things are coming up and if as a business owner you don't keep up with the trend, you may just fall out of business. You will agree with me that so many things that was invoke years ago have become obsolete. As long as the earth evolves, things will continue to change. This is how business is and should be. Change they say is one thing that is constant and you should be always ready to embrace that change any day and anyhow it comes.
Learning is the process of acquiring new skills or being knowledgeable in your area of business. For instance, a hairdresser learns the act of making hair. This process of training is the first stage to becoming a hairdresser. Every business owner passes through this learning stage in business. This is a very important process where you get to know the nitty-gritty of your business. It baffles me how some business owners just jump into businesses without even being knowledgeable about their line of business. At least, have a background knowledge of your business because it is extremely important.
Relearning is going back to upgrade on what you already know. Just like I said in the beginning of this article, new things are coming up everyday and as a business owner you need to keep up. For instance, if you are a fashion designer, of course you should know that different creative styles are coming up everyday. So if all you know is how to sew only one pattern of skirt, you may just end up being stereotyped and that is really bad for business. Ordinarily, the fashion world is one creative world on it's own. So if you are a fashion designer, you should always be up to date at all times. It is very okay to always update your fashion skills and relearn new ways to create beautiful designs.
Unlearning is the process of setting aside the knowledge you already have and learning from the scratch again. I love to cook and make good meals. Recently, I joined a culinary school to acquire new skills. Their pattern of cooking is very different from mine. I know the usual conventional way of cooking which is now old-fashioned if you will describe it that way. But I kept my heart open to learn new things and truth be told, things have really changed in my kitchen. I have learnt so many new meals and I am doing wonders in the kitchen already.
That's how a business owner should be. He should be ready to learn, relearn and unlearn every time the need arises. This is the best way to keep staying in business. Being creative in your business takes a lot of hard work, patience and focus. Just make up your mind to grow in your business and you will be amazed at the outcome soon.
