Hello Saturday Savers. Had an interesting week with a fit of sinus infection. But feeling a bit better.
February No-Buy Month
What a deal for me. I didn't meet my goal of saving 50% ($1500) of my monthly budget. But 27% ($815) is not too bad. Below is my report together with my MARCH Savings Report:

Hello @actaylor. Appreciate you stopping by. Thanks for the well wishes. I believe it's easing up after a week now. I can breathe a bit better. Yes, the 27% ($800+) savings helped in other areas of my budget that increased. Auto and homeowners insurance have skyrocketed the past couple of years. Then there's flood insurance on top of that. You have to cut costs on all ends to accommodate the inflation of these costs.
The No-Buy Month helped in reminding me to reduce my entertainment costs, especially dining out when I already have items available. Just being lazy sometimes resorting to convenience that costs your more than you realize.

It's unfortunate to learn that insurance costs have been skyrocketing... It's definitely important to find ways to cut costs elsewhere to accommodate for these increases. And YES - it's great to hear that the "No-Buy" month helped you reassess your spending habits. Ditto here - especially when it came to unnecessary splashing. (Do I need x - or do I want x?) Sometimes it's, well, "easy" to fall into the trap of convenience... but being mindful of our spending can really make a difference...
Hello @actaylor. Thanks so much for your support. Yes, I consider my No-Buy Month a success, evening though I didn't reach my goal of saving 50% of my budget. The good thing was that my savings I did realize helped defray the cost of both insurance increases.
It's always a struggle it seems with "want" vs. "need". I'm trying to get totally to the point of only spending on must haves. And, I'm carrying this over to March and see how far I can go with it this year.
I appreciate your visit and engagement. It seems we are all in the same bucket sometimes battling the tug of the "do I really need this" indulgence.

Hello. Thanks for visiting. Yes, I was thoroughly pleased as my auto and homeowner's insurance skyrocketed when I received my 2024 renewal. So much for the $800 savings. Those two took care of that and lurking around for more!

Insurance has increased enormously here, too. Hopefully, the no-buy month helped the increases to have less of an impact.
Yes, it did help by cutting the cost of the insurance increases in half. Now with my reduced electricity and internet monthly costs, we'll be able to handle it. I truly believe that society as a whole forget about seniors whose livelihood mainly depends upon a monthly fixed income.
