I'm sure you all agree with me that everyone goes through difficult times, and that can sometimes lead to feelings of grievance or hatred. Hatred and grievances are similar in that they can have a negative impact on our health and well-being. But while it's not easy to control our emotions, we can try to manage our reactions to them. When it comes to dealing with grudges, there are two sets of people: people who let their grievances take advantage of them. On the other hand, others try to solve them directly.
Letting go of grievances or grudges is a very big deal. Not so many people can do this easily. It takes a heart of forgiveness, self-reflection, willingness, and determination. Have you ever been in a situation where you found it difficult to let go of your grievances? Do you have grievance against someone or an organization? What steps are you taking to resolve it? Currently, I'm holding grudges against a school where I once worked. In this post, I'll discuss all that happened.
One important thing about me is that I love the idea of being independent. Independence is a wonderful thing. I hate it when I'm a burden to anyone. I don’t want to give off the impression that I do not like asking for help. Of course, I know when to strike a balance between asking for help and being independent. My point is; that a person shouldn't depend on anyone (especially parents) for everything.
Shortly after I graduated from secondary school, I decided to work as a teacher in an elementary school. I didn't want to depend on my parents for my needs and wants. At that time, a developing elementary school needed teachers urgently. Luckily for them (and for me as well), I applied and was given the job immediately. I was really happy when I got the job. The school owner told me that I'd start teaching the next day. I didn't have any “teaching clothes,” so, I rushed to the market with my sibling to buy some new clothes. I felt confident and ready to start my new job on the first day. A big smile was on my face as I walked to the school to start my first-ever job.
The school owner introduced me to other teachers and I started the job almost immediately. At first, I was nervous, but as soon as I stepped into the class and introduced myself, everything started going well. Initially, the school owner and I agreed that I'd be teaching the students one subject. But after some days, she added another subject. She pleaded with me. In her defense, she said one of the teachers fell sick and there was no one else to cover up. I didn't reject it because I knew I could handle it.
Things were going well until the end of the month when the school owner who was also the principal, refused to pay my salary. According to her, she couldn't pay my salary at that time because students had not paid their fees. She promised to pay me up after some days. Well, she didn't. I worked in the school for 3 solid months without getting paid a dime. After the third month, I tendered my resignation letter. Not only did the principal not pay my salary 3 months, but she was also very rude. I mean, she was extremely disrespectful. She talked recklessly. One thing about people is that they look down on their inferiors. Just because you are in a position of authority doesn't mean you should treat people disrespectfully.
It is pretty hard to forgive and forget. I mean, the principal totally ruined my chances of making good memories in my first-ever job. I'm still holding grudges with her even though this happened years ago. Here’s a message to her even though there's a very high chance she might not see it:
“Just because you are in a position of authority doesn't mean you should treat people with disrespect. People deserve to be rewarded for their hard work and labor. It's important to recognize and appreciate the effort and dedication that individuals put into their work.”

I've been in a similar situation before and I also just let go of what they did to me and moved on thank God that I've at least gotten an experience in being a teacher.
Most of those private school teachers are very good at using new teachers because they know they can always get new ones to use almost every time.
What the woman did was totally inhumane of her and it's sad that it has affected my fave's heart this much that he has to hold a grievance for this long 🥺. I know you were hurt but trust me she is not worthy to be part of the things you think of 😀.
Your message to her is something that I believe even if she doesn't read this post she will realize it someday.

Honestly, some people are wicked! I legit worked for three months without getting a dime. And to even think I bought new clothes to start the job. On the positive light, I learnt quite a number of things.

Yeah, the part that you spent money and didn't even get paid is really annoying Sha, like why! But let bygones be bygones, you've learned your lesson and you know better 😆.
Yeah but I didn't do it for long, I changed to a home lesson teacher when I found a more convenient time 😀

Yes. Ever since I started reading Lao Tse, I found it easy to let go of everything including grievances.....it's easy u just need to change your outlook.
Independence/freedom is a luxury. However freedom is also rooted in your self-sufficiency, therefore your economic position(self-sufficiency) will determine whether u r free or not.

I felt pissed reading this because I know how tedious teaching can be and for 3 months! Woah! That is so mean and manipulative.
I felt the brunt of this for a month's job. Mine played out differently though. If there is a thing that will bite one hard it's owing wages.
The upside to it is all the knowledge and experience gathered that will and I'm sure has made you stand out. So sorry you had to go through that.
