The founder of Terraform labs, Do Kwon has been extradited to the United States from Montenegro after a lengthy legal battle.
Ministry of Justice of Montenegro approved the extradition, prioritizing the United States request over South Korea's because of the severity of charges in related to the crash of TerraUSD and Luna which resulted in around $40 billion in losses of investors funds.

Since March 2023, Do Kwon had been detained for trying to flee with forged passports and was serving a four month sentence before his extradition.
The legal fight in Montenegro was significant for Do Kwon as it determined his extradition to the United States over South Korea.
The Constitutional Court of Montenegro rejected Kwon's final appeal following a series of conflicting court decisions, paving the way for extradition on the basis of the severity of charges pertaining to the $40 billion collapse of Terraform Labs' cryptos.
