I haven't looked into it yet - and most profitable is rarely a reason for doing things, to me :-)
I'm interested in WOW because I'm all in on privacy coins, and of them it stands out in a few ways:
- It has the least parabolic rewards curve I've seen - the minting is going until 2068, and so far a quarter have been mined (versus 75-90% for most coins with hard caps)
- It has tail emissions (flat annual inflation rate after curve)
- I think it is WAY undervalued (memes are where the masses go - and this is the privacy one!), so mining them now, when I expect them to easily clear $40 each...
Once Lethean switches to RandomX, I'll probably mine that for a while as well :-) I'm currently working on some solar-powered mining setups, just have to be near someone with internet and I can run a bunch of nodes for effectively $0, after the initial investment.
I'll go look into Verus now, I think you're the third or fourth person whose mentioned it.
Are you buying a laptop, building a desktop, buying something used? I'm happy to help if you have any questions along the way - I'm not 100% up to date on the newest tech, but I've been building PCs since I was 13.
Im all in privacy coins. Decentrized privacy coins are my number 1 focus in blockchain. Im a big fan of Wow, but PirateChain is what gets me excited. Are you familiar with PirateChain? It sheilds all transactions with ZSnarks, its not optional like other privact coins. Monero for example was shown to be suseptable to mass data analysis. All addresses could be identified this way. PirateChain is not susceptible to this because all transactions are sheilded, its not optional. Also, PirateChain is broadcast to Komodo, and BTC blockchains as well as its own, meaning 51% attacks would need 51% of PirateChain, Komodo, and BTC to initiate. I beleive this makes it the most secure blockchain.
The best part is DEX that will be out in august called PirateDEX. This is really revoinary. Right now a big problem with privacy coins is buying them. Mkst peoe cant buy them in cash from someone, theh use fiat or BTC which are the opposite of private. PirateDEX will allow decentalized swaps betweet BTC, ETH, and loads of other coins, to piratechain 100% anonymously. I beleive Wownero is on the list to supported as well. I think this is the most importent project in the space.
PirateChain(arrr) is ome of the projects in the BPSAA org. Its a bunch of privacy and freedom oriented projects. Another cool one is etho protocol. It is decentralized web hosting. Your site is stored in peices on all the computers in the blockchain, so it cant be taken down. Then there is Internxt which is the same thing but for cloud storage you can use it now for free. I am so pumped about these project. If you are into freedom and privacy you should look into these. All of them have been seeing huge gains lately too.
Oh yeah j wantes to mention with verus, you can mine verus and get paid in piratechain. This is what im doing.

Yep, I did a post about Pirate Chain back when I first found it a few months ago, and then another one recently when I learned about various centralization and other concerns.
ZIL is a HUGE project doing what it sounds like etho is trying to do, they're also the only competitor for ICANN when it comes to TLDNS, at least as far as I know.
I stay away from Komodo and Komodo-related projects for the most part, being such a centralized chain, with such a scammy launch.
Ive heard people complain about komodos launch, but it didn't seem any different than most ico's to me. What was scammy about it? Problems they had with mining at the begining? Which honestly there I dont know if there are any tokens which im happy with the launch. Its what kept me away from steemit to begin with. Komodos platform does qork great, and has been doing things for years new investor backed projects are starting to do now. And we will never know if a large portion of arrr is held by few wallets, but that is what appeals to me about it. The development has been aggressive amd on point, and the developers are actually really accessible. They do a weekly meeting im which anyone can ask questions, and they respomd to my dms. They also proof read anything I wrote about arrr ot bpsaa. Judging from all of that its one of the more open projects ive been a part of. Arrr is best privacy tech out there, so in the techocratic world were seeing emerge daily, im probably going to end up using PirateChain regardless of how i feel about devs. Unfortualtely the ring tech of monero isn't as secure as we'd all hoped. Let me know if you have some resources on the Komodo launch if ya can. I have had trouble finding much of the legitimate critisims.
I didnt even talk about pcs lol. I am not building, i have narrowed in down to 3 pre built desktops. Not a gamer so I dont use it for anything to heavy, but I wanted a really good preocessor to mine. Other than that I use exel, word processors, light photo editing, and i'll probably buy a new interface to record music. I just need it to be fast for trading, and a nice processor for mining.
