I'm looking for #feedback on the new Points system for Leaderboard V2
As it stands, this is how points are earned. If you have any feedback about these, let me know and I'll consider tweaks
Our goal is to make it an even playing field where anyone who works hard can top the leaderboard on a daily/weekly/monthly basis
I was going to say get rid of the LEO staked but 100 means that everyone who is serious about the leaderboard should have. It isnt that high a level to reach.
This seems like a good system to work from. Hits upon the areas of the platform that we want to increase engagement.
I was thinking of something perhaps with threadcast or threadstorms but that often leads to nothing more than tag spamming.
Go with what you have here and see how it works out.
Yes on the staking - I added a cap there at 1,000 points. It seems fair that an investment of up to 10,000 LEO ($550 currently) should be worth the equivalent of making points in the other categories:
We can tweak it as we see things play out in reality, but this isn't a way to buy your way to the top of the leaderboard - as many of us get well over 1,000 points through sheer effort.
For the Threadcast/Storms... Yeah I was thinking about that as well. The thing about it is that if you make a 5-thread threadstorm, you're already getting 5 points for that (5 threads)
Yes and we see it abused. So the net result is probably more headaches than it is worth.
Also if you have LeoAI bringing the ability to the plate, people will be using that instead of actively engaging.
Iwould say put a cap on other things as well like blog posts. There's really no reason someone should be publishing 3+ articles a day unless you're task lol I'd say count 1 blog post a day max to ensure it's keeping quality and not spamming
Would amount of upvotes be consider?
We had upvotes on the old leaderboard. I removed them from this points system because frankly - upvoting is largely automated by a lot of people. So this metric isn't a good lens of true engagement
oh ok, didnt know upvotes could be automate for threads
As I see it, there is trails, so even if not automated, there will be likes that werent actually given by an active person
That's indeed a good argument to exclude them! Could $LEO upvotes be automated as well? Not sure how curation trails for example influence LEO upvotes.
looks good, but I mentioned this before. I think you should incentive threads in a threadcast a little more, since we want people to engage in them. Like give them 2 points and regular 1.
Hmmm
We could think about this but I personally don't see why we'd do that. Being active in a threadcast means that you inherently will make a lot more comments more rapidly than if you were just posting top-level threads or in the main feeds
The ease of making a lot of threads is its own way of giving you more points. See what I'm saying?
I totally understand, but Im looking at this with the glases that if you want to promote threadcasts to outsiders, we would love to have as many people posting in them as possible.
The larger they get, the easier it is to promote it.
I would say that the leaderboard is inconsequential when site navigation still needs so much work.
Perhaps you could give insights into what you mean in a #feedback thread. Screenshots and specific descriptions would be quite helpful
I think our site navigation is quite good but I am open to suggestions if you have specific ones
I've started using the tag, recently to address some issues with poor search results when searching tags. Feeds repeat after 12-20 threads. Feeds reset to beginning if you click on a thread to see replies. Those are currently the major issues I have, on Brave and Firefox browsers in Ubuntu Linux.
These are good requirements for classification. This means that dedicated people can seek more engagement on the platform.
From what I can see, it's already a good size. I'm excited to get started and I hope more people can get motivated too.
Looks good to me. Activity and engagement pays off.
100% and bounties for consistently topping the leaderboard will be an added financial incentive
I'm far away from topping the leaderboard but see the payoff whenever I am more active.
I think this image says enough.
As mentioned by @skiptvads, I would incentive upvotes as well. That would let the flywheel spin even further and gets your gamification adding even more rewards.
Furthermore I think it's fair in general, maybe a blogpost worth a bit more as it's way easier to get 10threads than a blogpost.
I like it that you motivate people to stake $LEO but on the other hand put a cap on it as well to be sure it aren't just whales taking the places.
In general, looks good!

Attached is my response to Skiptv on why I don't think upvotes should be included

I would add in comment received on your thread/post.
This makes people create more engaging content 👌🏼
Should be just .2 or .5 points though
Replying to people who reply to you is key to engagement and that will earn you 1 point already for a reply/comment. IMO that is plenty of incentive. We don't want to overly incentivize receiving engagement when it is not reciprocated
Fair! Disregard my latest reply to you, this adds up for it 😄
The concern for me is that there are a lot of hivers who post post post and don't engage. Adding receiving points would allow them to earn points without doing anything to engage
But it would make them create more engaging posts. You have thought it through more than me, for sure. Just thought it would add some value if you do more engaging posts 🤔
Another question is if there will be some bonus system for being constient in the top of the leaderboard?
One more question, is there any bonus of doing all action in the list in a given day?
Is there going to be any points for cross posting stuff over to say X or other platforms in order to spread awerness?
and what can these points be used for? is it for voting? sorry I'm a beginner
It's just to tally up total participation. The person, or people, with the most points will likely win some type of prize!
Thank you very much for the response and this is very helpful to understand
Posted this feedback earlier this morning: https://inleo.io/threads/view/freecompliments/re-leothreads-23qpccnbs
Looks great. Except that more points could be given to comments to encourage more interactions
