web3 means putting everything on chain. If you want private operations (private, of course, until the company sells your data), then Web2 is for you!

Privacy is a mainstay of freedom, so maybe that's why Blockchain Social networks are a hard sell, especially for Anarchists who at first embraced bitcoin

Content or actions meant to be private should be handled off-chain or at least on-chain but encrypted. Things like reposts, quotes, bookmarks, likes, etc. can be on-chain.

Did he do it to protect those who like the nasty stuff? I guess you can't check if it's just bots. I don't trust his motives and the open model of the blockchain is better.
