The sustainable fashion market in India estimated to reach $9 billion by 2025 yes, sustainable is the future and the fashion industry openly adapts to sustainable fashion alternatives.
The new evolving sustainable fashion brand many renowned luxury fashion houses have taken the sustainability route or ways. According to the general report nearly 60% consumers are ready to pay higher price for sustainable products.
The shopper from all age groups have shown interest in buying environmentally friendly fashion products. However the price of sustainable product has been a concern for both consumer and brands.
Here are few reason why sustainable fashion products are costlier:
Organic Materials: Organic Cotton, hemp, linen and other eco-friendly fabric are often more expensive than conventional materials, their production is more laborer intensive and yield low outputs
For example: the price difference cotton yarns and organic cotton yarns per kgs 4.20$ the difference is 1.12$ per kgs. The most expensive yarns are linen, hemp and milk yarn other eco-friendly products approximately the price difference is 12.50$ per kgs.
Brand values: the premium pricing helps position eco fashion as higher quality and lower environmental impact by discouraging overconsumption. Although there is segment of people willing to pay the higher price to scale sustainable fashion brands to lower price.
Why we moving sustainable product, I would like to explain why? If we are planning to manufauring the cloths or denim cloths .the amount of water used to make cloths is alarming something like 7000 litters to 10000 litters of water to make cloths or pair of jeans. Which is how much one person would drink in 5 to 7 years of their life time
Given there will be a global water shortage in close 2023, we definitely need to readdress our relationship with cloths and understand where it from and the impact this has on the environment most people have absolute no idea of these alarming fact in earth.
Only way to save earth is moving toward sustainable product. Sustainable fashion has been growing trends in fashion industry .and its involves making clothing and accessories in environmentally and socially responsible ways this movement aims to reduce the negative impact of fashion industry on the environment and promote ethical practices.
Some of the top fashion bands with sustainable options like carbon neutral, collection created with recycled and organic materials to reduce environmental impacts
The luxury brand has already lunched re nylon a fabric made from recycled plastic recovered from the oceans.
The rise of consumer interest towards sustainable option drives the brand to revamp their conventional designs. Do you look for sustainable fashion option while shopping?
