That's my go-to as well. I love a wizard build! I picked up a supplement a while ago called The Tallent by MCDM, which is a spin on the old 3.5 psychic class, it acts as a caster that isn't bound to spell slots and it's a really cool addition to 5e. I'm currently running one as my big bad, but I desperately want to do a player of it.

a kenku! Nice! They're fun to play if you have a good group.
Never played a kenku or a barbarian so it's definitely interesting
barbs are a ton of fun, and have some really neat subclasses. I dm for a Totem Barbarian and a rogue/barb multi class and they both really enjoy it.
