Let's continue the post without further delay.
We were on requirements of mining Cryptocurrencies. So far we have discussed Operating System, Processors and Graphics Card, mining rig also covering ASIC devices
Next on our list is

POWER SUPPLY

. So what is Power supply
A power supply means a device which provides your whole mining system it's food on which it operates. And of course you need an active source of electricity for running all your electrical devices. Your electricity provider transfers this to your home from power grids through wires.
Your power supply to the mining rig is the bridge between your incoming electricity to the mining system. A system that converts AC current from the wall outlet into the DC currents required by electronic circuits.
There are many models of power supply available in the market. According to your mining rig capacity, you need proper power supply to run efficiently.

Components of power supply :

  1. Transformer
  2. Rectifier
  3. Filter
  4. Regulator circuits

Types of power supply
There are mainly 5 types of power supply.

  1. Linear
  2. Switched
  3. Battery based
  4. Unregulated or brut force
  5. Ripple regulated
Linear in least complicated. Battery based is movable and advantageous. While the most used for computers are switched.
Switched are also known as SMPS(switched mode power supply)

If you are good in electronics, you can create your own power supply using the components and it'll be the cheapest option with just 20$.
For the modern days computers and according to mining capacity, power supply needed is more than 450W.
This system of power supply for a computer is called PSU ( power supply unit)
Also while buying, one needs to look for it's noise, fan and cabinet size.

Now let's look at the models of smps available in the market.

The best and cheapest one is

  1. CORSAIR CX450
Available in 60$ with a great performance of 450W output.
    Alternative in 450W - CORSAIR VS450

  2. CORSAIR RM550X
    Best at output of 550W
    Price at 80$
Alternative for 550W - PHANTEKS AMP series 550W

  3. XPG core reactor 650W
    Power supply output is 650W
    Priced at 110$
    Alternative for 650W- Thermaltake Toughpower PF1 650W

  4. Cooler master V750 gold V2
    Power supply output is 750W
    Priced at 125$
    Alternative for 750W - Corsair rm750x

  5. Corsair rm850x
    img_0.4063723096310052.jpg

Power supply output is 850W
Priced at 140$
Alternative for 850W- XPG core reactor 850w

  1. Corsair AX1000
    POWER supply output 1250W
    Priced at 240$
Alternative for 1250w- Thermaltake toughpower Grand RGB 1200W

  2. Be quiet! Dark power pro 12 1500W
    power supply output 1500W
    Priced at 400$

  3. Corsair AX1600i
    Power supply output 1600W
    Priced at 600$
Alternative for 1600W- Silverstone DA 1650

  4. Till now all were in form factor of atx, it's in sfx form factor
    Corsair SF750
    Power supply output 750W
    Priced at 210$
Alternative option - corsair sf600 platinum

  5. Silverstone SX1000 SFX-L
    Power supply output 1000W
    Priced at 220$
Alternative option - Silverstone nj450- sxl

So the best option currently is to buy each component separately and assemble them by your own at very less cost.
Remember, power supply output mentioned is max output possible and a high power psu can easily supply low power consumption computers.

Identification of power needs is the key here.

That's it from today's post. In next post I'll discuss about rest
other requirements. Thanks for having your patience to read and always supporting me. I'm collecting data from various places to combine in one place so that you won't have any issues while looking for stuffs related to cryptocurrency mining.
I'm coming back soon with the next post, till then stay safe and keep your family safe.
