Imagine having an ill child who's been coughing for four weeks now. She only stayed home the first 3 days as after she felt fine and no fever. Cough didn't go away and now she complains she doesn't hear in one ear.
This morning, I went to the public health centre and they just say they don't have time until Jan 9! Uhm wow.
That's when I'm happy I have private insurance as well but I had to take care of some administrative stuff there too so I figured let's go to the public paediatrician for the first time. Guess that's only convenient if you need appointments for referrals and stuff that can wait 3 weeks.
The pandemic was rough on health care here too, this is the first time I experienced it though as none of us went public so far.
Guess I'll be booking my medication refill appointment for next month already :)
I am sorry to hear you're having to deal with that. And even more sorry your daughter is ill. We have urgent care facilities for something that is more serious but not a real emergency. I am in the Midwest USA. Yes, I agree that the pandemic screwed us over in respect to healthcare. I really hope she starts feeling much better very soon.
We've been through worse, but thank you :) It's just slightly annoying at this point. It would have been worse without private insurance. I'm grateful we have that now. Although WAY too expensive, as this was the second time I used it for her, so would have been better off paying out of pocket.. but you never know this upfront, do you?
I think here in Spain, they'd also say if you really want a doctor today, go to "urgencias" because I remember sitting there with a few things years ago and looking around me, seeing mostly people who needed a regular doctor, not urgent care.
She's still at home today, I don't think she's well enough to go but I hope she can at least catch the final day of celebration at school, fingers crossed.

People used to go to emergency rooms here in the USA to see a doctor immediately. Now we have Urgent Care clinics.
Something more than waiting to see a doctor for days and less than going to the actual emergency room at the hospital.
Insurance companies like getting their premiums but they don't like paying out benefits and it is almost impossible to get enough information ahead of time to make a choice between an insurance claim and paying out of pocket.

Thank you, sadly her fever returned and so she missed her final exam as well as the celebrations the last days. She's getting a bit better today as the meds finally seem to work to loosen things up.
The emergency thing sounds familiar, a friend told me that if you need a prescription it's almost impossible and you need to go to the emergency room. Which obviously makes these overloaded as well.
I was going to go to the public doctor from now on for my blood pressure meds, I will go to the health centre after Christmas to ask for an appointment, I probably either can see one just in time before mine run out OR I will be too late and take the appointment anyway while I pick up one last round at the private clinic. The thing is they cost me 60% more each month by getting the private recipe over the public one. I think I'm stupid if I don't try to at least mix it up with public care.
It's not all glitter and glamour with the private insurance though, while they let me sign an exclusion for just one knee (due to a minor surgery during my teens) they later changed it up to both knees out of the blue and I could not access their system unless I signed. They are an absolute nightmare to say the least. So I hate dealing with them too.

Insurance, no matter what kind, is a nightmare with which to deal. And I do believe they do that on purpose so that we just give up and accept it.
They know they are in a forced market so they pretty much do whatever they want.

But I emphasize with those without private insurance because I've had this issue many times back in Hungary before we moved to Spain. Is this an issue where you live? Health insurance waiting times (post pandemic)
Well... Here in Libya, the government-based healthcare institutions are available for Free for Libyan citizens, (no insurance is needed,) but you'll get dragged from a place to place and waste days if you're going that route. Many people can only afford those so it's always crowded and sometimes you have to take appointments weeks in advance.
A private healthcare institution costs money and some are more expensive than others, but you'll only wait a few hours at most.
I have to mention that even most expensive hospitals here are dirt cheap compared to USA from what I've hear online.

Compared to my home country Holland, Budapest private care was affordable though, so whenever I needed a doctor for my ear (recurring issue), I gladly paid him 45-50 euros to be back home within an hour instead of spending half the day in the public hospital.
I think all three countries, and yours are more affordable than the USA. We pay a lot for private, but with a few exclusions, public is needed in case we need a doctor for these things. The lesson learned today is that I should not wait until I REALLY need a doctor, lol. Best to book one in time.
I think that's normal that you didn't notice it, kids are not really busy with that thing and the parents take care of that lol. I bet if I ask my daughter do you remember the hospital visits in Budapest where we waited half of the days or got sent from A to B and so on, she doesn't even remember it, while I get stressed even thinking back about it..
Better for the kids though, they should not worry about these things :)

Getting 5 Million impressions on X (Twitter) isn't a big deal
Can take only a week to reach the threshold but what becomes real deal is "Stripe" if this ain't available in your country.. this becomes a real challenge to even set up monetized account.
Well, in this 5million impressions journey I've learnt plenty of lessons and knows exactly how algorithm works over there.. will share strategies and tips soon if you want to increase your reach.
Register a company in wyoming USA. Get stripe account. Run it like a business. If you are doing this as a hobby then I think you would not get stripe that easily. Here in singapore side, companies cost a lot to maintain but 499 USD a year you can maintain LLC in USA.
Tools like stripe are used to deprive people from emerging countries opportunities. The sad part of web to and one on the main reasons Bitcoin and block chain technologies are fought. In traditional structures, the powers that be feel and think different people deserve different opportunities.

Pero, siento que el inmobiliario pudiese ser con el que más empatice. Datos parecen confirmar que mi generación (millennials) son la generación con menos posibilidades de adquirir casas. I question whether 1,000 people have the dedication. Heck if we get 50 people doing that, it will make a huge difference.
It will take time. We grew up and groomed to be the users of services that are "freely" available. Taking ownership is a new concept and that requires discipline and responsibility.

Getting 5 Million impressions on X (Twitter) isn't a big deal
Can take only a week to reach the threshold but what becomes real deal is "Stripe" if this ain't available in your country.. this becomes a real challenge to even set up monetized account.

Register a company in wyoming USA. Get stripe account. Run it like a business. If you are doing this as a hobby then I think you would not get stripe that easily. Here in singapore side, companies cost a lot to maintain but 499 USD a year you can maintain LLC in USA.

Tools like stripe are used to deprive people from emerging countries opportunities. The sad part of web to and one on the main reasons Bitcoin and block chain technologies are fought. In traditional structures, the powers that be feel and think different people deserve different opportunities.
Yeah man, these creates opportunities for many but it sucks when country doesn't open the door for these apps.. no wonder how many people couldn't continue their services on web 2 due to unavailability of these Payment apps..
Bitcoin does work and help but most business like twitter won't pay in Bitcoin but a gateway like stripe will be the only way.

2/ The biggest challenge is the fact people were reared in the wage-slave economy. We give up our time for money and then use it to spend in businesses we have no stake in.
