There is this popular notion that Made In Aba shoes are sub-standard.

Well that the #stereotype Aba shoes have been suffering from for decades now but that's absolute baldadash 😂

#hivenaija #Aba #threadstorm

Sort:

Aba is known as the Japan of Africa because the people are industrious, hardworking, creative and can produce or make anything with their hands.
The asset of "Nwa Aba* is their hands.

the truth about japan though is that hard / dedicated work aren’t the same as good work 🤣 they can be but often are not. Of course I’m not taking about Aba here, only Japan 😜 and I doubt Japanese people will disagree

Well, I guess none of them will be seeing this.

@wealthwess, you be Americana now, come share your experience with Aba shoes

#crossculture #minicontest #Aba

Aahhh, Americana? Even me don’t know this lol.

Ok now

Yes nau, no be you dey give us update for sports update. Even you and Task dey run things together 🤣

Answer the question joor 😂

Do you have a link to a good source that sells the shoes? Also, it's 'balderdash' 😁

Yes, I do, if you need.

I'm not English so I can make mistakes with the language.
Thank you 😅

I just want to check out some of the shoes and you do well with English as your 2nd or 3rd language. I took French and Spanish in college and forgot the majority of it. I had a friend from Senegal who helped me pass French

Thanks, but English is borrowed not even 2nd or 3rd language. In high school, I could write but was shy to express myself until I entered college and mastered it 😅

I did French in junior high school and passed. Spanish was from Duolingo

These are customized Ankara female slippers

They also make male palm slippers.

I wouldn't know the type you would like to see.

Well, I do not blame people who say that Aba shoes are of low quality, they forgot that we have foreign products that are sub-standard too.

It revolves around what you can afford.

#crossculture #hivenaija #minicontest #Aba

Made in Aba shoes are exported to Cameroon, Gabon, South Africa, Congo DR, USA, Switzerland and other places.
Most of the shoes you buy in boutiques abroad are actually made in Aba shoes 😂

Clears throat

The first two week, the shoe was okay o but along the line, the colour started fading. As a sharp girl, I didn't mind the colour fade. Until the shoe cut on the road. Omo. I came back home bare foot😂

Hahaha, you see that's your fault na. You didn't follow the manufacturer's advice on how to wear it

You said it all "Stereotype". Made in Aba footwear's are good looking, exclusive design but the y don't last longer, because of the materials used and the equipments.

Really?

Seems like you haven't had the opportunity of using quality ones.

I have a made in Aba slippers that I've been using since 2020. It has served me really well.

this is interesting. In the suburbs and cities of America and Japan we hardly pay attention to which products come from which areas. Everything “made in China”. But the countryside of Japan is different. Many great local products

You are right, The China products came in and almost invaded our local markets such that most people now believe that theirs is superior to the local ones, but they are actually not.

Rice wine (sake), fish, pottery, traditional paper or certain kinds of sweets come to mind, things which are exceptionally good in one particular region.

Exactly, our local rice is healthy, nutritious and even sweeter than the foreign ones.
