I love eating yams with palm oil so years back I visited a #yoruba friend and he decided to give me treat by preparing yam with egg sauce. Food served, I took a bite and yuck it tasted like sugar.

so the egg sauce is sweet? Sounds good! Reminds me of a sweet egg bun in Hong Kong! I’ll probably like it
The egg sauce tasted like egg sauce but the yam was sugary 🤣 he added sugar to the yam to make it sweet which was unusual for me but not to him cos that's how they prepare it in their place

I'd probably like it! I prefer sweet to salty, though it depends of course
I know some people add sugar to their yams but I never knew it was peculiar to yoruba tribe. That's so weird

Well, that was my first time of hearing and seeing such. It was so out of place for me

Hehe. I know some people that cook yam with sugar. Some cook theirs with vegetables. I don’t really know the reason behind adding sugar into yam. 😂. Some will even add sugar to beans 😂 😂. Crazy meal everywhere
Weird unusual food that people eat leading to more health problems
Add sugar to beans, yuck 🤮

I asked
Bros said he actually added sugar to the yam to make it sweet, and that it's how his people cook it
Ah, this is unbelievable, sugar in yam that already has natural sugar 😲

I refused eating the food and opted to take chocolate bevarage with bread and the egg sauce while he ate his unusual sugar yam. 🤣
