Hi everyone and if you are looking for some nice crypto update then you have landed in the right place. A $2.2 million worth crypto fraud targeting job seekers and the unemployed was halted after the NY Attorney General froze the funds, exposing untraceable transfers and bogus charges.
a few days ago, the New York Attorney General’s Office announced that James had filed a suit to reclaim $2.2 million worth of crypto assets stolen through a complex text message fraud targeting individuals looking for remote work opportunities and these people are already unemployed and seeking jobs. These fraud people sent unexpected messages on devices offering flexible hours, part-time, and high-paying jobs that required victims to purchase crypto to participate in activities like initial coin offerings. We have seen many ICOs and most of them are scams and have taken the money of investors and now this is a new type of scam.
In addition to recovering funds, the lawsuit seeks restitution, penalties, and damages, not only these but a permanent ban on the scammers’ activities which are fraudulent.
The crypto scam started with fake and irrelevant job offers in which victims were told they would earn good commissions for generating market data by doing product reviews and these victims are job seekers that's the reason they are trapped easily. Victims were directed to open accounts on legitimate crypto platforms like Crypto.com and Coinbase and purchase stable crypto assets like USDT and USDC. They were told that money was needed to make the data they were generating “valid” and were assured of a refund along with their commission and deposit.
Once victims transferred crypto assets to unhosted wallets controlled by scammers and fraudsters, the funds became practically unrecoverable, and that's a big problem. The fraudsters used fake websites and webpages imitating legitimate companies to make the process seem believable and trusted. When victims attempted to withdraw their money, the scammers demanded additional bogus and unnecessary fees, such as “blockchain verification”, “credit score improvement” and another type of fees, leading to further losses. In one case, a New York victim lost more than $100k.
The investigation which was conducted by the Attorney General’s Office and this is not conducted only by the attorney general but in collaboration with the Queens County District Attorney’s Office and United States Secret Service, traced the stolen funds. Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz said,
“My Cryptocurrency Unit was able to identify and trace over $2 million in stolen crypto and identify the digital wallets where these coins were held,”
So be careful because crypto has ten benefits then one side effect too but you can avoid it by using your brain so always be careful in the cryptocurrency world. Every field has scammers so never forget that. What is your opinion please share in the comment section and please share this post on social media thank you.

I think that it's the problem of centralised entities and this is why decentralisation is better because we need not worry about the funds freeze
that is what I believe. decentralization is the complete solution.
